Cartersville, GA — Shaw Contract continues its growth in the tile and stone category with Monumental, a porcelain tile collection inspired by the natural forces of time, pressure and movement that shape stone. Monumental offers designers a large-format material built for long-term use that public spaces demand.
Monumental features veining that moves organically and color that evolves gradually. The patterning embraces natural variation, allowing each surface to slowly reveal its depth and movement, the way a landscape is shaped by wind and water over time.
Monumental comprises four distinct marble-inspired visuals, each offered in a single cohesive colorway designed to work together within a space: Goldenrod, Verdant, Sirocco, and Grigio. Each is available in 24″ x 24″ and 24″ x 48″ rectified glazed porcelain, featuring a Lappato finish, a honed, marble-inspired texture that enhances the visual veining for a more realistic look. Coordinating 6″ x 12″ covebases allow for clean transitions between floor and wall.
“Marble has always signaled permanence, but what we wanted with Monumental was movement,” said Reesie Duncan, Vice President of Global Design at Shaw Contract. “At this scale, the veining reads almost like a landscape, so a lobby or a lounge doesn’t just get a stone look; it gets a surface that keeps revealing itself the longer you’re in the space.”
Monumental is rated for wet and dry floors, as well as interior and exterior walls. Designed for hospitality lobbies, hotel bathrooms and spa environments, restaurants and bars, and other various commercial interiors. Monumental also coordinates with Shaw Contract Hospitality’s Untitled Custom Collection for projects that pair materiality with creative expression.
