Hightower Adds New Options to Kona Collection

SEATTLE — Hightower has launched an expansion of its Kona Seating Collection, adding three new options: Kona Slipcovers, a new Kona Bench, and gator clip connections. These new offerings give designers more ways to reconfigure, renew, and extend the useful life of Kona, reflecting Hightower’s ongoing commitment to its Considered Solutions ethos that responds to how people interact with furniture in their daily lives.

For more than a decade, Kona has shaped commercial spaces with timeless comfort and appealing simplicity. Five years ago, the Hightower Studio Design Team redesigned Kona Seating with a more comfortable seat. Today’s expansion builds on that foundation, giving designers a softer aesthetic option and simpler reconfiguration without compromising the comfort and character that has made the collection a favorite.

“There’s this idea that sectionals are modular, but they’re usually fixed from the beginning,” said Shawn Sowers, VP of Design at Hightower. “Now designers can reconfigure, renew, and continue evolving Kona long after it’s been installed.”

New gator clip connections make it easy to disconnect, rearrange, and expand Kona layouts on-site, turning a fixed sectional into a piece that adapts as a space’s needs change. Additionally, Kona Slipcovers introduce a softer, more relaxed iteration of the collection, with French seam detailing, a casually tailored silhouette, and signature comfort wrinkles that create a residential-inspired aesthetic while preserving the comfort and proportions that have always defined Kona. Replacement slipcovers are also available for previously purchased Kona seating, supporting easy refreshes and greater circularity. A new Kona Bench creates a finished end for sectionals and adds an additional flexible seating option, available in both the tailored and slipcover variations.

The expansion reflects Hightower’s Considered Solutions philosophy, which balances enduring performance with thoughtful design to keep quality furniture in use longer. Every Kona piece is tested for the demands of commercial environments and rated to ANSI/BIFMA X5.41 standards to support up to 400 pounds. Kona is backed by a 10-year warranty and is Indoor Advantage Gold certified and Red List Free. Kona is produced domestically in High Point, N.C.

New Kona Slipcovers, the Kona Bench, and gator clip connections are available in six weeks or less. Designers can explore the full Kona Seating Collection at hightower.design/collections/kona-seating.
