OM Seating announces it has been recognized with LEVEL®, BIFMA’s sustainability certification program for furniture. “OM has been a people-oriented, wellbeing-oriented business from our beginning. This past year our team committed the time and analysis required to earn certification, to earn recognition for the processes and systems we’ve had in place for years. LEVEL is an evaluation and certification system for environmentally preferable and socially responsible office furniture.

The program has three performance tiers: LEVEL 1, 2, and 3, with the higher numbers indicating that more criteria have been considered and met. Basic requirements are applied for all products in a category, then the evaluation considers corporate, facility, and product impacts across categories including Materials, Energy, Health, and Social. “Earning a 2 on our first attempt speaks to the level of effort we all invested in the process and also to OM’s long-standing policies and standards. Senior Product Designer. With LEVEL®, material composition, life cycle analysis (LCA), recycled percentage composition, chemicals, and eco and human health impacts are accounted for. The
LEVEL® sustainability certification can account for more attributes than any other standard. The LEVEL certification program provides a clear and simple way to identify
products that are sustainable and responsibly produced. The products are assessed by independent third-party auditors according to standardized criteria and are periodically audited and/or re-certified. Specifiers can compare LEVEL-certified products easily and choose them with confidence.
