Hightower Expands the Stanza Collection with Launch of Stanza Tables
SEATTLE — June 2026 — Hightower unveils Stanza Tables, the newest addition to the award-winning Stanza Collection. Originally introduced at NeoCon 2023 as a family of modular planters, Stanza has grown into a comprehensive interior system. With the addition of tables featuring optional integrated planters, the collection now offers designers a fully realized toolkit for shaping how people move through, gather in, and experience a space.
The idea for the integrated planter came about in the way the best design ideas often do: by accident. “Stanza Tables felt like a natural addition to the line given the construction and materials,” said Shawn Sowers, Vice President of Design at Hightower. “Natalie [Hartkopf, Hightower Chair/Co-Owner] and I were looking at early table images together, and through a happy accident — I misheard something she said — I sketched out the idea of integrating a planter directly into the table. I showed it to her and she said, ‘That’s not what I meant, but that’s really good.’ We both loved it. That’s how the integrated planter came to be, and I think it’s a genuinely fun differentiator in the market.”
Stanza Tables are available in three height variations — 20″, 16″, and 14″ — each designed to work in concert with the existing planter family. The 16″ and 14″ heights are offered with optional integrated planter trays, accommodating pots up to 9.5″ in diameter and featuring a height-adjustable tray shelf. Varied heights allow for nesting, giving designers the opportunity to compose layered, dynamic groupings. All tables are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, ship flat-packed and can be assembled without tools, and include optional ground-mounting hardware for added stability where needed.
The collection’s signature faceted forms, originally inspired by the large-scale, space-shaping sculptural work of Richard Serra, carry through the tables with the same soft geometry that defines the broader collection. Compositions shift with light and perspective, reading differently depending on where you stand. “When you look at the single 20-inch table on its own, there’s something in the form that echoes ancient columns,” Sowers observed. “Whether that was conscious or unconscious, it was in there somewhere.” Stanza Tables can be used solo as a singular statement, clustered around a lounge grouping, or woven through a floor plan to direct traffic and define zones without the rigidity of walls or traditional partitions.
Stanza Tables are a direct expression of Hightower’s Considered Solutions philosophy, the company’s commitment to designing products that are as thoughtful in their making as they are in their use. “The Considered Stories for Stanza Tables run deep,” Sowers explained. “The integrated planter is an obvious expression of biophilia. We know people feel calmer and perform better when they’re surrounded by greenery, so bringing plants directly into the product was an easy decision. The flat-pack construction makes it simple for direct shipping and easy installation, and because there’s no glue, disassembly at the end of life is completely straightforward. And it’s essentially a monomaterial, so it can be fully recycled. We also take safety seriously. It meets BIFMA standards, and we designed the tables with tip-resistance in mind.”
The collection carries Indoor Advantage Gold Certification, is Red List Free, and contains recycled content. Domestically manufactured and shipped from the U.S., Stanza Tables are backed by a 10-year indoor warranty and 2-year outdoor warranty, and are tested to ANSI/BIFMA Table and Desk standards.
Stanza Tables are finished in the same extensive powder coat palette available across the Stanza Collection, with more than 20 standard color options ranging from grounded neutrals to expressive choices and chic metallic finishes.
The full Stanza Collection — planters and tables together — is a system that grows with the room, defining pathways, softening transitions, and bringing architectural rhythm to interiors without losing sight of how people actually use them.
