Ghent Donates Portion of Pink Sales During Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Throughout October, purchases of Ghent’s Petal-colored glassboards will support the design and furnishings industry’s own breast cancer foundation, The Common Thread for the Cure.

Lebanon, OH — October 2026 — Ghent is marking this Breast Cancer Awareness Month by donating a portion of sales from its Petal-colored glassboards to The Common Thread for the Cure during the month of October.

Petal is a soft pink shade in Ghent’s glassboard color palette. For the month of October, every Petal glassboard sold helps The Common Thread for the Cure provide financial relief to members of the design and furnishings community facing breast cancer.

In a month dedicated to health, the product itself carries that commitment as well. Ghent’s Aria, Aria Connect, Aria Span, Border, Coda, EZ Mobile, Define, Harmony, and Pointe Mobile glassboards are all LEVEL® 2 certified. LEVEL is the sustainability certification developed by the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association (BIFMA), and it evaluates furniture across four criteria: materials, energy and atmosphere, human and ecosystem health, and social responsibility. Ghent’s glassboards are finished with water-based paint containing no VOCs, making them a choice that considers the people who use them every day, not just the environment.

Founded in 2000 by Suzann Burkhead Bray and her brother Scott Burkhead in memory of their sister, Sandra Burkhead Campbell, The Common Thread for the Cure Foundation supports people across the design and furnishings industry and their immediate family members who are facing breast cancer. The 501(c)(3) foundation awards confidential grants that recipients can put toward whatever they need most, from medical deductibles and mortgage payments to housing during treatment away from home. The goal is to ease the financial stress that comes with a diagnosis so patients can focus on healing. To date, the foundation has awarded more than $2 million in grants.

For Ghent, the partnership is personal. Susan Claus, Ghent’s Director of Marketing, serves on The Common Thread for the Cure’s Board of Directors and is herself a breast cancer survivor. “After my own fight with breast cancer, I know how much it matters to have people in your corner, and how stressful the financial side of a diagnosis can be,” Claus said. “The Common Thread for the Cure is our industry taking care of its own. Being able to bring Ghent into that work, through a product our customers already choose every day, means a great deal to me and to our entire organization.”

Petal glassboards are available for order through local Ghent representatives or at ghent.com. For additional information about The Common Thread for the Cure, please visit commonthreadforthecure.org.
