WATSON FURNITURE’S TONIC COLLECTION SHINES WITH MULTIPLE INDUSTRY AWARDS
Watson Furniture celebrates a remarkable achievement, winning two Silver Best of NeoCon Awards, one for the Tonic Workbench for Enhancements to Furniture Systems and one for the Tonic Work Table for Communal Tables. Additionally, the Tonic collection received Interior Design Magazine’s HiP award for Office Furniture Systems. This recognition affirms Watson’s commitment to excellence, discovery and exceptional design.
“It is an exciting and rewarding experience to be acknowledged by the industry for successfully reimagining a decade-old product,” CK McKenzie, President at Watson Furniture, said. “We listened to our customers and considered what’s important to them now and in the future. The result was a design that remains timeless and a collection that will adapt to the ever-changing market.”
The Best of NeoCon Awards, one of the industry’s most coveted honors, celebrates outstanding products and concepts showcased at NeoCon, the premier trade show for commercial interiors. NeoCon took place from June 12 – June 14 in Chicago.
The HiP Awards, presented by Interior Design Magazine, recognizes the innovation of products and exceptional people within the commercial design space that lead the way for industry trends. The Tonic Collection’s achievements are representative of the company’s goal to provide customers with quality, versatile and considered solutions for their commercial office spaces.
The winning entries from Watson Furniture stood out amongst a highly competitive field of submissions, demonstrating outstanding design, functionality and a deep understanding of evolving workplace needs. With meticulous attention to detail and a focus on user-centric design, Watson has consistently delivered unmatched solutions that cater to diverse work styles.
Watson’s Design Manager, Rachel Whitaker, spearheaded the refresh and expansion of the entire Tonic Collection, originally designed by the industrial design team, Mike & Maaike in 2012. The Tonic Work Table was introduced to the collection, while the Tonic Workbench’s features were enhanced to include a single-sided configuration, new height options and new accessories. Additional products in the collection include the Tonic Conference Table, Tonic Tables and Tonic Storage.
Winning the Enhancements to Furniture Systems award, the Tonic Workbench is an adaptive benching system that flows with the pace and needs of modern work environments through functional accessories and modular components that allow designers, individuals and teams to create purposeful, reconfigurable settings. Some notable updates to this system include adding a single-sided configuration and a new standing height option. This product also includes new accessories, like the Neighborhood Light and planter boxes, and boasts a more refined manufacturing process that significantly reduces the amount of steel needed and simplifies installation.
Claiming the Communal Tables award, the Tonic Work Table is an approachable, pre-set solution, and is perfect for the untethered nature of the modern work environment. It doesn’t need to be hardwired, instead utilizing single-circuit power making it easy to install and move in the future. The Work Table’s functional, visually inviting accessories and easy access to power make it a natural gathering point for individual and collaborative work.
