Simii Design, a table manufacturer dedicated to durable functional, custom designs, announces the launch of their newest occasional table line, Basalto. Basalto combines a proprietary material of high performance, lightweight concrete, and precision-machined, hand-finished woods, creating a refined yet relaxed piece of furniture.

Basalto comes in three sizes: coffee table (30×17), side table/stool (14×18) and end table (20×14). The tables can work together as a seating arrangement or apart as accent tables throughout a space. The bases are made of lightweight fiber-reinforced concrete hand poured and finished. The proprietary mix allows for a reduction in cement, water and energy used creating a smaller environmental footprint without skimping on design or durability. The solid teak and black stained oak are FCS certified renewable wood, which is responsibly harvested, and hand finished with a Formaldehyde free, low toxicity product. Basalto transitions from indoor environments to covered outdoor spaces, bringing the natural elements inside while creating a seamless design transition through various spaces.

The introduction of Basalto marks the brand’s move into renewable and natural CMF strategy. While maintaining its approachable pricing, Simii Design is launching a new CMF dedicated to integrating renewable and natural products including the lightweight concrete and solid woods of the Basalto line. At NeoCon, in the My Resource Library showroom #1191, Simii Design will showcase its expanded HPL options alongside the natural resources including: lightweight concrete, solid teak (tops and table legs), black stained oak, Italian man-made marble (white and black) and Diamante, an exclusive pressed wood surface 30% stronger than traditional MDF and fully recyclable.
