Cartersville, GA — Shaw Contract has launched Simply in Motion, a carpet tile collection that explores how scale and layered texture change the way a floor reads across a room. The collection’s three styles come in a24″ x 24″ format, using tonal gradations and dimensional patterning to build depth. Simply in Motion is a No Rules collection, meaning the tiles can be installed in any arrangement, and facility teams can replace small sections of flooring as needed instead of tracking attic stock.

Drifted Grids is a pixelated pattern with subtle shifts in texture and scale that give the floor structure and steady movement. Shifted is the quietest of the three, with a clean, modern design that plays small-scale texture against pattern. Multilayered pairs understated geometric impressions with diffused block patterns that blend into one another.

Colorways include Warm Linen, Quiet Sand, Fog Motion and Dimensional State.

“Movement in a floor doesn’t have to come from a loud graphic or pattern,” said Reesie Duncan, Vice President of Global Design at Shaw Contract. “With Simply in Motion, it

comes from texture and tone, the way a pattern drifts or a color softens from one tile to the next. It reads calmly from across the room and keeps revealing more detail as you get closer. Because it’s a No Rules collection, that design holds up years later, when the space has changed and tiles have been swapped out.”

That flexibility carries through installation and long-term upkeep. Installing tiles in any configuration speeds up the job and reduces labor costs. When a tile is damaged, it can be pulled and replaced with a new one set in any direction. Mergeable dye lots let replacement tiles from later orders blend in without an exact color match. The collection also pairs with Solace, Shaw Contract’s new 4 mm wood-look LVT collection, for smooth transitions between carpet and hard surface without the need for transition strips.

The tiles are built on lightweight, PVC-free StrataWorx® backing, which is designed for durable performance and flexible installation. They contain a minimum of 25% pre-consumer recycled content. The collection is made with EcoSolution Q100®, a 100% recycled content nylon allocated from pre-consumer sources, which gives Simply in Motion a low carbon footprint as reflected in the EC3 tool.

Simply in Motion is Cradle to Cradle Certified® Silver and Living Building Challenge Red List Approved. It is Green Label Plus certified to California Department of Public Health indoor air quality standards, and it carries a third-party verified Environmental Product Declaration and a Health Product Disclosure. The carpet tile styles are carbon neutral and are made in a carbon neutral manufacturing facility. At the end of their useful life, Shaw Contract will reclaim them through its Environmental Guarantee to make new EcoWorx® carpet products. Since 2006, Shaw has reclaimed and recycled nearly 1 billion pounds of post-consumer flooring.
