SafeCare™ by 2/90 Sign Systems: DESIGNED TO HELP PROTECT THE PEOPLE IN YOUR CARE

Safety First

If you’re looking for ways to create a safer, friendlier environment, our new line of SafeCare Signs has your back. We partnered with designers to develop this anti-ligature product specifically for behavioral health environments. We’re proud to say it’s the only American-made product featured in the New York State Office of Mental Health Safety Standards.

SafeCare is ideal for any facility where safety or durability are key factors, including healthcare facilities, schools, and prisons. Each sign is made of polycarbonate, which prevents the sign from breaking and being used as a weapon. Beveled edges eliminate sharp edges and subsurface paint and graphics guard against tampering in high-traffic and vandalism-prone areas.

The signs install securely with tamper-resistant Pin-in-Head Torx fasteners, plastic anchors and adhesive. We can also supply other mounting options, such as spanner fasteners with butterfly anchors for drywall installations.

Contribution to the Built Environment

2/90 Sign Systems understands the science behind good signs. We know how people flow in a variety of different environments, and we’ve studied how to best communicate direction and identification. We are not only experts at creating effective sign systems, but we also understand the importance of aesthetics, good design, and high-quality materials and manufacturing. A good sign system is an integral part of any built environment.

It was only natural the behavioral health leaders who develop the Standards for the state of New York sought out 2/90 to produce a sign product that was all about safety. The design went through multiple testing by NYSOMH and their team of experts until it met their standards.

Complement Your Space

SafeCare Signs were designed specifically for patient safety with the aesthetics you expect from 2/90 Sign Systems. Select from a standard offering of 16 soft-cornered sign types that identify, inform, regulate and direct patients, staff and visitors.

Signs are available in one or two colors; either match the polycarbonate material or choose a complementary color for the sub-surface area; logos and images can also be incorporated to match your environment. Enrich your signs with infinite colors, select from over 60 standard painted prism/designer hues and 4 standard window insert papers. Custom color, sizes or shapes are available. With 2/90’s direct print technology there are infinite design possibilities that are waiting to be expressed.

SafeCare signs compliment other 2/90 Sign Systems’ products to supplement and meet all of your signage needs. SafeCare Signs meet the unique objectives faced by behavioral healthcare facilities seeking to maintain the balance between patient safety and security while creating a non-institutional environment.

Environmental Sustainability

For 40 years 2/90 has offered a system approach to interior and exterior facility signage providing sustainability and ease of maintenance. Our reputation was built on sustainability; when the message changes, simply replace the copy insert, not the entire sign. However, the modularity was a hazard in the behavioral health environment so we provided a solution that was indestructible while still maintaining our integrity by incorporating paper inserts for temporary messages. This sustainable attribute allows the customer to manage name changes easily in-house with perforated paper inserts and online laser-print templates to maintain consistent aesthetics.
