NUCRAFT’S NEW MYNE TABLES: A NEW TYPOLOGY FOR THE CONTEMPORARY WORKPLACE

What started at Nucraft as a project to reimagine mobile tables soon turned into something much more. Designed by Metrica in Milan, The MYNE Collection not only supports training and learning, they also facilitate dynamic team and collaborative work in a variety of settings.

“In contemporary open plans,” says Robin Rizzini, Metrica’s chief designer and partner, “architects and interior designers are facing the growing demand of specifying furniture that is light, flexible, and easy to move and reconfigure. As we developed MYNE, we realized there is space for a new typology of product that meets these new demands—all with the performance of a highly functional training table.”

“We felt training tables could be light, sleek, highly mobile, and designed with a European sensibility,” says Nucraft CEO Matt Schad. “And that opened the door to creating a class of tables that could enhance not only training environments, but also open plan spaces where visual lightness, mobility, and versatility are highly valued.”

MYNE Out, MYNE In

The MYNE Collection includes reconfigurable tables and a Mobile Marker Board and Divider. All tables have features such as a flip top for easy nesting and transport, and convenient power and data. The primary differences can be summed up, says Robin, by saying “MYNE Out and MYNE In.”

The legs of MYNE Out mobile meeting tables take an innovative approach. They are outset from the edges and contain wire management. Power and data are routed to the top end of the legs, where tabletop-level power/data access doesn’t interrupt the table’s clean lines. Tables can be battery powered for maximum mobility.

With the MYNE Out leg design, the tables do not gang. They are meant to move, come together in any arrangement, and reconfigure in a flash, so they are Ideal for focus, huddle, and creative spaces. Says Matt, “People are untethered in their workspaces now. They move around freely all day, and MYNE tables move just as freely.”

MYNE In reconfigurable tables feature legs that are inset from the edges so the tops can be ganged together in space-efficient fixed arrangements ideal for training, meetings, and other applications. The Power Beam on the underside of MYNE In tables accepts modular power; various accessories provide convenient power/data access.

Elegant design

MYNE tables combine a slim profile and approachable feel with strength and longevity. A primary focus of design was the MYNE leg. Though thin and light-looking, the legs are made of cast aluminum to create a sturdy structure and reduce weight for mobility.

MYNE’s ¾-inch-thick stacked birch edge and soft-rectangular top adds to the Scandinavian aesthetic. Tops are available in veneer, mate powder coat, overlay on birch, laminate, and exclusively with MYNE is the introduction of linoleum.

“Nucraft is structured to transform challenging ideas like MYNE into innovative new solutions,” says Robin. “They have the will to stay with an idea and make it reality. It takes a lot of effort, but it makes design and development a super-positive experience.”
