NARBUTAS’ Sales Continue to Grow – New Factory in Lithuania to Increase Capacity
Future NARBUTAS Factory
NARBUTAS’ sales continued to grow in 2024. New factory in Lithuania to increase capacity
12 03 2024 – As 2024* has come to an end, office furniture manufacturer Narbutas International UAB presents the results of the past year and plans for 2025. The ever-growing company finished 2024 with a profit, and among its challenges for the next few years is a new factory that will enable it to meet the growing global demand for Lithuanian office furniture. The international company currently sells its products in over 60 countries.
Further growth and investment are expected
The company has been operating since 1991, and its sales are steadily growing. The sales of Narbutas International UAB amounted to €168 million in 2024, an increase of 6% compared to €158 million in 2023.
In 2024, the company’s EBITDA was €17 million. It is €8 million lower than in 2023. The decrease in EBITDA was due to increased costs related to the company’s development and strengthening of its position in the markets where it is already established, such as the revamp of the NARBUTAS brand showrooms and opening of new ones, participation in international trade fairs and wage growth (increased number of employees and higher salaries). For example, the average number of employees per company increased by 21% last year. As of 31 December 2024, Narbutas International UAB employed 1,717 people, while the number of employees worldwide, including the other companies of the NARBUTAS group, was 1,827.
The company is expected to continue to grow. Its sales are projected to reach €196 million in 2025, with a growth of 17%. The company constantly makes investments, with €20 million spent in 2024 for equipment and innovation to increase the production capacity, expansion of the existing factory, software, IT infrastructure and new product development. Investments worth €15 million are planned for 2025.

In 2024, the company exhibited at more international trade fairs than ever before to promote the brand. Last year, it participated for the first time in the prestigious design trade fair Salone del Mobile. Milano, Italy, and for the tenth time in Orgatec, one of the most important office furniture trade fairs held every two years in Germany. The latest products were also presented at NeoCon (the USA), Workspace Expo (France), Stockholm Furniture Fair (Sweden), and Design District (the Netherlands).

Last year, the company completed more than 1,200 different projects, ranging from private offices to public establishments, educational, healthcare and other institutions.
The new factory receives the status of a large-scale investment project of national significance
Narbutas International UAB manufactures all of its products in one place – a 67,000 sqm factory in Ukmergė, Lithuania. With the company’s sales steadily increasing and further growth forecast, a new factory is planned and has recently been given the status of a large-scale investment project of national significance. The total investment is estimated to be €170 million. The new factory will be built next to the existing NARBUTAS factory in Ukmergė and will cover an area of 95,000 square metres. The company plans to employ around 300 people there.
Designing the new factory and its surrounding area is planned for 2025. The factory is expected to be completed between 2026 and 2027 and would increase the company’s production capacity 3 to 4 times if it reached full capacity by 2030.
Based on the global office trends and demand, the company’s main focus in 2025 will be on the manufacturing of acoustic products and seating, such as task chairs and upholstered furniture. NARBUTAS will also further strengthen the customised production service, which is one of its key competitive advantages. Customised furniture accounted for more than 20% of the sales in 2024.

Around 90% of the fleet is electric
Sustainability is one of NARBUTAS’ strategic directions. Its aim is to become a climate-neutral company by 2028. The 3.2MW solar power plant on the factory roof currently generates up to 40% of the electricity used in the manufacturing process. It is estimated that this will save the company around €200,000 per year and contribute to its CO2 reduction targets.
The company’s manufacturing facility and offices use only electricity from renewable energy sources. Electric vehicles make up 89.55% of the fleet managed by Narbutas International UAB.
NARBUTAS constantly invests in the well-being of its employees and the community. In 2024, 28 organisations received support in the form of cash (€754,000) or furniture (€129,000).
*These are provisional data for 2024. Final figures will be available at the end of the audit.
