WHO:
KI is a contract furniture manufacturer headquartered in Green Bay, WI, with more than 50 years of office and showroom presence in Chicago.
Special Guest: Amanda Schneider, LEED AP, MBA, workplace researcher and founder of ThinkLab, offering early insights from her upcoming book Work for What’s Next.
Attendees will include select media, design professionals and industry leaders.
WHAT:
KI will host an exclusive, invite-only press preview introducing Cognetic Technology™, a patented innovation redefining workplace seating by expanding beyond traditional ergonomics.
Until now, seating has focused on one thing: ergonomics (comfort, movement and posture). Cognetic Technology keeps the ergonomics piece in their function but adds two entirely new dimensions to seating:
- Cognitive performance (focus, processing mental clarity)
- Physiological impact (stress, wellness and how the body responds over time)
Together, these elements establish a new category: human performance seating — shifting seating from static ergonomic support to an active tool for productivity, focus and wellbeing. This marks a broader shift in workplace design, reframing seating as a performance-driven system rather than a comfort-based product.
WHY:
As organizations continue to rethink workplace strategy in response to hybrid work, talent retention and productivity challenges, KI’s Cognetic Technology introduces a fundamentally different question: What if workplace performance is not just about how we work, but how we sit?
Early testing indicates reduced stress responses and improved cognitive performance, while maintaining the comfort standards of leading ergonomic seating.
This is a first-look media opportunity ahead of public launch during Design Days in June. The event offers:
- Hands-on experience with a new seating category not yet on the market
- Access to KI leadership and design team insights
- A visually rich, experiential environment designed for editorial coverage
- Early commentary from workplace researcher Amanda Schneider on the future of work
This is a limited-capacity, RSVP-only preview designed specifically for media access.
