IIDA’s Product Runway 2017 at The Cleveland Museum of Art
The IIDA Cleveland Akron City Center and the Product Runway Event Committee hosted this year’s Product Runway in The Cleveland Museum of Art’s show stopping atrium space. This event presents a runway fashion show of one-of-a-kind couture original garments utilizing a manufacturer’s product as the ‘fabric’ of their hand-crafted garment. Friday, May 1st marked Cleveland Akron’s fifth Product Runway and was bigger and better than ever with over 2,300 tickets presold! MIX:Design
Our own MRL Director of Marketing participated on Team Allermuir! The garment required sketched concept drawings to be submitted ahead of time and to be completed out of 80% of the manufacturer’s product. This year Allermuir and Interface teamed up with two models, one with 80% deconstructed carpet materials and one with 80% deconstructed furniture materials. Judges of the event were none other than Project Runway star Valerie Mayen; Carrie Malatesta, IIDA, LEED AP, Associate and Director of Interior Design with SHP Leading Design in Cincinnati, Ohio; and Cheryl Durst, Executive Vice President & CEO of IIDA.
