Special-T announces Ian Hick’s promotion to CEO, succeeding Dale Nutter in the role since January 1, 2024.

Special-T follows a long-standing policy of promoting people from within the organization whenever possible. According to Steve Rozeboom, the company’s second generation owner, this policy ensures the quality and consistency of their brand while benefiting their employees and customers from the knowledge and skills acquired over time.

Rozeboom believes that Ian Hicks is the best leader for Special-T to accomplish their global grown initiatives and continue their internal mission of rebuilding lives, one table at a time.

Ian Hicks, who joined Special-T as the Vice President of Sales in 2019 and has since completed four years of service, played a pivotal role in driving triple-digit growth and orchestrating multi-million dollar increases in revenue. He led Special-T through a transformative direction amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in record growth, and introduced numerous groundbreaking products.

Before his tenure at Special-T, Ian held progressively influential roles during his eight-year stint at Humanscale. Starting his career with a focus on GSA, where he engaged with Federal and DoD Agencies in the DC, MD, and VA areas, Ian’s dedication led to a promotion to manage the Sales Team at the New Jersey Office for two years. Subsequently, he relocated to oversee the Atlanta Office and Sales Team, contributing significantly to revenue growth and fostering lasting relationships within the furniture industry.

Ian, who is passionate about spending time with his wife Amy and their two sons, Dax (age 7) and Brady (age 4), enjoys travel, golf, and supporting his alma mater, Florida State University. With his unwavering enthusiasm, dedication, and extensive experience, Ian looks forward to propelling Special-T to new heights and maintaining its position as the foremost table provider nationwide.
