HBF Textiles’ Lost & Found Collection Connects the Past with the Present
HBF Textiles is collaborating with the innovative Christiane Müller for a third, creative collection: Lost & Found. This series of designs speaks to the deep human connection shared with textiles and the handiwork of techniques from previous eras, reinterpreted for today with trusted, dedicated mill partners. Through seven distinct fabrics and 48 colorways, Christiane and HBF Textiles fuses past and present for a timelessly beautiful, transcendent collection.
“Lost & Found puts each textile back into the hands of its maker – building upon classic methods and reflecting on their history,” explains HBF Textiles VP Design + Creative Direction, Mary Jo Miller. “Our latest line embodies Christiane’s dedication to the intricacies of fabric-making while still putting forth a nuanced collection that feels comfortable and inviting for today’s interiors.”
Crafted Felt, Crafted Cloud, Woven Memory, Timeless Twine, Enriched Bouclé, Quilted Comfort, and Cherished Knit comprise the textile line, with each design honoring the culture and craftsmanship behind its unique production and lifecycle. While celebrating textile techniques, this collection brings an unparalleled level of skill through Christiane and HBF Textiles’ dedication to working with experienced, artisanal mills.
“When I started to work with textile mills, printing mills, spinners and finishers, I learned to honor the makers – the craftspeople with skills and knowledge. Creating contract interiors in our Amsterdam-based studio strengthened my belief in the need for timeless fabrics with a soul that provide comfort, tell a story, create a personality and add human value to a space,” explains Christiane. “We are surrounded by textiles in our interiors, but which fabrics speak to us? Which one wants to be touched, or improve our environment through function? With the Lost & Found collection, I want to tell a thoughtful narrative about the essential meaning of textiles in our daily lives.”
Staying true to HBF Textiles’ dedication to sustainable fabrics and mill practices, many of the fabrics in Lost & Found boast a hefty dose of recycled yarns and rapidly renewable content. Sustainability and the recycling process are a recurrent, conscious theme throughout the entire Lost & Found collection – whether from recycled fabrics or from historical textile processes. Crafted Felt is made from recycled content mélange woolen yarn strands and comprised of 67% rapidly renewable content. Crafted Cloud is 70% rapidly renewable and made from recycled wool. Cherished Knit also features 41% rapidly renewable content, while Woven Memory features 88% rapidly renewable content, with 39% coming from the use of recycled cotton t-shirts.
The collection is also inherently adaptable, featuring three versatile designs that can be used in wrapped panel applications, three fabrics suitable for drapery applications, and two bleach-cleanable fabrics. Additionally, Crafted Felt and Woven Memory both boast 100,000 double rubs on the Wyzenbeek machine, offering fabrics with impressive durability, bringing a sense of comfort to any and every environment.
The Lost & Found Collection is available in 48 shades, with prices ranging from $49-$112 per yard.
Crafted Felt: Decades ago, women in villages joined together to felt cloth, singing in the rhythm of the movement of fabric. Crafted Felt features a slightly felted weave made from recycled content that adds warmth and comfort to any space.

Crafted Cloud: Needle punching is a craft of looping yarn or floss in the format of a pattern through fabric. Needle punching has been in existence since the ancient Egyptians began making needles out of hollow bird bones. Timeless Twine: A soft, yet strong, chenille weave that tells a story about showing time and aging in a beautiful way. With its rich patina, this fabric doesn’t want to look brand-new and sterile. It recalls the feeling of wearing an old piece of clothing that is too comfortable and meaningful to throw away.
- Timeless Twine’s strong content of Trevira CS polyester makes it incredibly lasting and inherently flame-resistant
- Can be used in upholstery, wrapped panel, and drapery applications
- 85,000 cycles on the Martindale machine
- Available in 6 rich colors
Enriched Bouclé: Since 30,000 B.C., the technique of embroidery has been used to enrich and personalize a fabric. This ancient technique forms the inspiration for Enriched Bouclé’s stitched weave pattern.
- Bouclé yarn creates an embroidered look while interrupted, playful line patterning suggests this fabric was made by hand
- 100,000 double rubs on the Wyzenbeek machine
- Bleach-cleanable performance with a 10:1 water to bleach ratio
- Available in 5 tonal colorways
Quilted Comfort: Inspired by garments worn by Crusaders under armor in the 12th century, Quilted Comfort provides comfort and softness, thanks to chenille yarns and layered weave techniques.
- This fabric’s 3-dimensional effect comes from subtle accent color added in the weft, a unique development that Christiane engineered
- Quilted Comfort can be used in both upholstery and wrapped panel applications
- 55,000 double rubs on the Wyzenbeek machine
- Bleach-cleanable performance with a 10:1 water to bleach ratio
