Furniture, Faith, and Family: 25 Years of Special-T
Special-T, the nation’s leading table-only manufacturer, stands out not only for its furniture but its unwavering commitment to people. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, this second-generation family business was founded in 1998 by Loren Rozeboom, who dedicated himself to his faith, family, and furniture. He began his career in Atlanta, transforming his furniture dealership into a customer-focused planning and design firm.
Loren’s journey took a surprising and meaningful turn during a faith-based trip to Ukraine in 1997. Witnessing the need for ethical business practices, he started a manufacturing plant, employing local with barriers to employment and aiding their recovery. This was the birth of the vertically integrated table-base company known as Special-T. The factory’s success also allowed Loren and his wife Barbara to establish faith-based sober-living facilities, ultimately helping countless individuals rebuild their lives.
Loren’s passion for people extended to the Special-T family. In 2016, after successfully overcoming his own struggle with alcohol abuse years prior, Loren’s son, Steve Rozeboom, took the reins, propelling the company’s growth while maintaining a deep commitment to rehabilitating addicts and alcoholics.
Special-T has always been fast, friendly, and affordable, offering top quality products with unparalleled customer service. But Special-T is more than just a furniture manufacturer, with a mission focused on building tables while rebuilding lives for those in need. Loren’s legacy lives on through the hundreds of lives touched by the company’s “workplace recovery” opportunities.
Today, Special-T remains a beacon of hope and inspiration, demonstrating that businesses can prioritize people over profits, while prospering both alongside each other. With gratitude to its supporters, Special-T looks forward to continuing its mission for another 25 years and beyond.
