AIS Celebrates 30th Anniversary with New Products, a Birthday Party and an Expanded NeoCon Showroom
AIS heads to NeoCon this June 10-12 celebrating its 30th anniversary with new-product launches, a birthday party and an expanded showroom at The Merchandise Mart (theMART) in Chicago.
“It’s our 30th anniversary as a company, and we’ve got some incredible plans in store for NeoCon,” AIS President and CEO Bruce Platzman said. “It’s always all about our dealers and their customers. Visitors to our showroom will see how we’re responding to market needs and relevantly expanding our offering. Our new products ensure dealers have even more ways to support worker preferences. And with our expanded and redesigned showroom, we have even more space to tell our story.”
AIS has increased its footprint by 40 percent at theMART, expanding approximately 4,000 square-feet into the space formerly occupied by Atlas Carpet and Callagaris – and will unveil the larger showroom during NeoCon 2019. The space occupies the northwest corner of theMART’s 10th floor and has expansive views of Chicago looking west.
Here, AIS will exhibit an array of products displayed in colorful and inspiring vignettes – including tables and desks, workstations, conferencing solutions, seating, storage options and private-office products. With a total of 10,400 square feet, it’s the largest showroom in the company’s history.
During the show, AIS will debut two new, diverse open-plan solutions that smartly integrate with its many existing products.
“This year at NeoCon, our dealers will see how far AIS has evolved over the past 30 years. Our solutions show the many ways we solve for customers’ needs with our broad product offering – one that continues to grow. No matter who the customer is – or where they may be on their own growth journey – our products will optimize performance, ensure comfort and support their ever-changing work needs,” Platzman said.
NeoCon 2019 theme and showroom celebration – “No matter what hat you’re wearing, AIS has you covered.”
Tipping a hat to how people figuratively and literally wear many hats in their work and personal lives, AIS’s NeoCon showroom theme this year is all about hats – and it’s also “hats off to the AIS team” for 30 successful years as a company. AIS showroom greeters will sport a variety of fun hats – safari hats, cowboy hats and top hats, to name just a few. Visitors can try on hats and have their photos taken – or take their own selfies – in front of an AIS photo wall in the showroom.
“No matter what hat you’re wearing – whether it’s the ‘CEO hat’ at a large company or the ‘I just started a new business’ hat – we provide the right fit with meaningful products that help people in their work,” AIS Vice President of Marketing Tracy Reed said. “Team-based or solo, corner office or break room, we’ve got the workplace covered.”
Also front and center during NeoCon 2019 will be AIS’s 30th anniversary. The company will host a “Hats off to AIS” birthday party Monday, June 10, starting at 4 p.m. in its showroom at theMART. Guests will enjoy live entertainment from strolling magicians plus the music act Chicago Dueling Pianos, known for familiar cover songs. Craft beer and cocktails, appetizers and birthday cake will be served.
Back by popular demand, AIS also will be handing out branded canvas bags.
Expanded permanent showroom, inspiring products – “transforming spaces at the drop of a hat”
AIS will unveil its expanded permanent showroom on the 10th floor in Suite 1086 at theMART during NeoCon 2019 where products will be displayed in colorful and inspiring vignettes.
“It’s always been important to feature our broad range of products in our showroom during NeoCon – and that has become more of a challenge with every new line we launch. The additional space has ensured our dealers will find all of our solutions when they visit us,” Reed said.
The AIS showroom experience begins at the reception area where LB Lounge™ products provide casual seating.
Nearby, AIS shares its Calibrate® Series story, showcasing four examples of its Calibrate® Community products. Calibrate Community uniquely expands the popular Calibrate Series into the open plan with a sophisticated and scalable design engineered for user convenience.
In this same area of the showroom, AIS also displays three examples of another product launching at NeoCon – Day-to-Day™ PowerBeam – an ultra-simplified, highly-flexible spine-based power and data distribution system that works seamlessly with AIS’s Day-to-Day Tables collection.
To the right of the reception area, a shared-office space features Calibrate Community. Adjacent this space is a private office with Calibrate® Casegoods. Continuing on, a conference room displays Calibrate® Conferencing products.
Just beyond this conference room is a display of AIS seating products – Upton™, Natick™, Devens™, Bolton™, Stow™, Grafton™, Pierce™ and Volker™ – in a variety of fabrics and finishes. Here, visitors will be able to try out AIS’s new seating-product configurator, Product Stylist.
This area of the showroom also includes AIS’s Divi® and Matrix panel systems, and Oxygen desking/benching products. A nearby café offers fresh coffee-bar service plus healthy snacks and tasty treats.
A custom laminate Colors/Materials/Finishes (CMF) Center displays a plethora of the choices available on AIS products. Here, designers and customers can experience in person the diversity of design-specification options at their fingertips.
Adjacent the CMF Center is an open informal lounge featuring LB Lounge and its new LB Ledge™. An enclosed creative collaborative space nearby features a combination of Day-To-Day Tables, LB Ottomans™ and other AIS seating.
Throughout the space, pops of fresh colors, greenery accents and natural materials, as well as structural elements and signage, create showroom definition and unique product experiences. AIS designed the space in collaboration with Boston-based NELSON Architects and Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Full Circle Marketing.
