Chicago, IL, May 28 2026 — This year at Fulton Market Design Days, JSI marks a major milestone: 150 years of building a business rooted in craft, innovation, and people, brought to life through an immersive showroom experience called Mosaic in Motion.
The company has been producing furniture since 1876 and is believed to be the oldest continuously operating furniture factory in the United States. Long before electric lights reached major cities, furniture shaped by the founders’ innovative spirit was being crafted in Jasper and traveling by rail across the country.
That same drive has carried forward across generations.
A very specific mindset has shaped the company, grounded in the belief that when people care deeply about what they do, and why they do it, something powerful happens. They invest more, create more, and build something better for the future. That’s when it becomes more than just the work.
This belief continues to guide the brand today, not just in its products, but in the people and partnerships that shape it every day. Mosaic in Motion brings that story to life.
At its core, JSI has always been a mosaic: a vibrant mix of innovators, creatives, entrepreneurs, makers, and relationship builders, each bringing a different energy, perspective, and point of view. What makes it special is not just the individual pieces, but the way they come together and continue to evolve.
Throughout the week, guests are invited into a living, ever-changing experience that captures this momentum. At the center, interactive moments make the idea tangible. Guests add to a growing visual mosaic, participate in personalized aura readings that reflect their individual energy, and see themselves become part of the story as it unfolds.
“These past 150 years have never been about any one person or moment,” said Ashley Sendelweck, VP of Marketing + Design. “They’ve been built by people who take real pride in what they do and who bring their own energy into something even bigger. Mosaic in Motion captures that spirit and the force it creates.”
In addition to the experiential showcase, JSI will preview a significant expansion to its Vision series, extending the line into the open work environment with integrated power distribution, ease of specification and installation, and a refined, cohesive aesthetic. JSI will also introduce Maru, a new lounge collection by Chris Carter designed around comfort and versatility, alongside expanded material and application enhancements to the Anthology collection. Together, these introductions reflect JSI’s continued focus on evolving the workplace through flexible design shaped around real people and real work.
The week will feature a special Monday afternoon event with industry voice Alexandra Tseffos, who will join JSI for a cocktail gathering, aura reading experience, and live Q&A. The event will also highlight winners of JSI’s recent CET Charette Contest, celebrating voices within the design community.
To further extend the experience beyond the showroom, JSI will host a social media promotion offering attendees the chance to win a trip to Portugal, a destination known for its rich color, craftsmanship, and design heritage.
As the week unfolds, the mosaic continues to take shape, built through shared moments, individual energy, and collective creativity.
At 150 years, JSI continues to honor its legacy while moving forward with intention, inviting the next generation to help shape what comes next.
Love What You Do.
