ARCADIA + ENCORE EXPAND CEU OFFERINGS WITH TRAUMA-INFORMED DESIGN COURSE
La Palma, CA – June 27, 2025 – Arcadia and Encore announce the launch of their third Continuing Education Unit (CEU) course, “Trauma-Informed Design and Healing Through the Built Environment.” This new IDCEC-accredited presentation provides interior designers and industry professionals with critical insights into the role of design in supporting mental and emotional well-being.
Participants will gain a foundational understanding of trauma—its evolving definitions, historical context, and the wide range of symptoms and experiences it encompasses. The course also introduces the principles of trauma-informed care, explores how these concepts translate into the built environment through trauma-informed design and provides practical considerations for creating spaces that prioritize safety, empowerment, dignity and trust.
This topic is especially timely as conversations around mental health, well-being, and neurodiversity continue to gain momentum across industries. By addressing how design can better serve individuals with a range of cognitive, emotional, and sensory needs, the course aligns with a growing movement toward more inclusive, responsive environments.
As the newest addition to Arcadia and Encore’s continuing education offerings, this session reinforces the brand’s commitment to supporting the design community with resources that not only educate but inspire more empathetic, human-centered approaches to shaping the spaces where people live, work, and heal.
