Dan O’Malley Retires After 34 Years of Dedicated Service at Lesro Industries
Dan O’Malley will be stepping down from his role as Director of Emerging Opportunities at Connecticut-based furniture manufacturer, Lesro Industries. Dan was hired by company founder, Adam Leshem, in 1989 as the Sales Manager where he played a strategic role in the company’s growth and development. Family-owned for 50 years, Lesro company President and co-owner Jerry Leshem remarked, “It’s truly a rare experience for an executive to spend more than 30 years at a single company. To have a front row seat watching an industry legend in action has been very special. I thank Dan for all he has done to help make Lesro the organization it is today.”
Dan’s decision to retire comes after a 34-year run at Lesro and takes effect at the end of June. Lesro General Manager and co-owner Ed Leshem said, “The impact Dan has had on our company cannot be overstated. We are simultaneously thrilled for Dan and his wife Cindy as they start the next chapter in their lives and incredibly grateful for the contributions he has made to Lesro and the Leshem family.”
Notifying company ownership of his intentions two years in advance, O’Malley worked hard to make sure that Lesro remained on the right track for continued growth. Hired as Dan’s successor, Lesro Chief Revenue Officer Leslie Girsky remarked, “I am so fortunate to have had Dan’s guidance during my evolution to a new industry. No one knows this business better nor has offered his time more generously to ensuring our company’s success an Dan.”
An avid fisherman, pickleball player and golfer in his spare time, O’Malley noted, “I have looked forward to Mondays for the past 34 years. I have been blessed with a career that I have thoroughly enjoyed and has allowed me to work with some of the best people in the industry. I want to thank the Leshem family, the entire Lesro team, our customers, suppliers, and supporters for making these years so enjoyable and rewarding. I always said that when the day comes that an order for a single chair is no longer important, it’s time to call it quits. Although I still believe that an order for a single chair is important, I have reached a point where it’s time to write that next chapter of my life.”
