Bloomfield, CT based Lesro Industries announced that 2023 will mark their 50^th year in business.  Founded in 1973 by recent Israeli immigrants Alice and Adam Leshem, Lesro has been a steadfast member of the greater Hartford area business community.  With over 100 employees at its Bloomfield headquarters, Lesro manufactures high quality and stylish reception, lounge, and waiting area seating for the commercial, healthcare, education, and corporate markets.  Still family-owned and operated, Mr. Leshem’s sons Jerry and Ed share ownership and operational duties.

Having manufactured more than three million chairs in their 50-year history, Lesro is a pillar in the town of Bloomfield.  Co-owner Jerry Leshem said, “Having been raised in central Connecticut and afforded many opportunities to relocate our manufacturing business to lower cost cities outside the state, we made a conscious decision to keep our company here, enabling our employees to work and raise their families in one of the more desirable parts of the country”.

Lesro Industries’ contributions to the community go well beyond the economic benefits to the area.  Giving back and being a good corporate citizen have always been a hallmark of the Leshem family.  The land adjacent to the Bloomfield factory is leased to a farmer.  Any revenue generated by this lease is donated annually to veterans causes.   Additionally, more than 3,200 solar panels were installed on the facility’s roof, enabling Lesro to generate enough energy to operate almost entirely off the electric grid.  Co-owner Ed Leshem said, “As instilled by our parents, we have always treated our business as an extension of the community insofar as we want to leave behind more than we have been given”.

The company is planning an event to honor its past and celebrate its future with the focus being on the many long-term employees and suppliers who have contributed to Lesro Industries’ success and longevity.  Local and state municipal leaders are expected to attend to help recognize this achievement.
