Hightower Launches Gimbal Swivel, a Sleek, Modern Extension to Iconic Product Line
Award-winning, Gimbal is extending its product line and introducing Gimbal Swivel. A new, adaptive soft seating option designed by the Hightower Studio Design Team. With its unique mechanism and soft seat, Gimbal Swivel gives users a sense of freedom and movement, making it an innovative, ergonomic seating solution.
Gimbal initially launched in 2018 and is a top seller within the market. Hightower’s original Gimbal Rocker Lounge was created with a gimbal mechanism that allows for a rocking motion to aid users in releasing energy while sitting for long periods of time. In 2022, Hightower Studio expanded the line as the global pandemic led to a shift in the seating preferences of many users, who opted for residential products influenced by working from home, launching Gimbal Jr., an extension that welcomed the human form through comfort and movement. The line incorporated flexibility and movement that adjusted to the market’s needs, embracing functionality.
Now it’s Gimbal Swivel that is meeting the needs of the market with flexibility and movement with configuration options for privacy. “We are always listening to our clients, and we heard the request for a true swivel version of our existing Gimbal Lounge,” explained Natalie Hartkopf, CEO of Hightower. “Our Hightower Studio Design Team took quick action to create this new extension to meet the needs of our clients and to offer more options within the collection.”
The swivel feature allows workers the option to reposition from a seated to a stand-up position throughout their workday. Gimbal Swivel offers a full range of motion and can be configured in different backings and degrees of rotation. The line extension, Gimbal Highback Swivel, and Gimbal Lowback Swivel are available in a 90° w/ auto-return or 360° with no auto-return. Gimbal Lowback Swivel offers a comfortable lounge seat ideal for shared workspaces, meeting lounges, and residential work areas.
