Hawthrone, CA – 9to5 Seating brings the Work in Rhythm to its showroom with a celebration of the unfolding of the workday. Every workday has a cadence. Morning focus gives way to mid-day collaboration; quiet stretches of deep work alternate with the energy of conversation; the late afternoon often calls for something softer–a relaxing space to work or connect with colleagues before the day comes to an end. This year’s 9to5 showroom is built around supporting that rhythm with seating designed to flex, support, and adapt as the day does.

To bring the theme to life, 9to5 collaborated with creative director Carole Baijings, whose wallpaper for Petite Friture for the showroom, titled Shades of Time, visually traces the rhythm of the workday from morning light to evening calm. As a tribute to the design, 9to5 will be giving away limited-edition pouches featuring Baijings ’Shades of Time artwork, available in two versions: Afternoon and Nightfall edition.

“A workday has many moods, and I wanted the showroom to honor all of them. Morning focus, midday energy, the softness of late afternoon,” says Baijings. “From the layout to the color palette to the Day to Night wallpaper, every element of the space is designed to move with that arc. The wallpaper is a visible expression of the idea, but the rhythm runs through every choice in the room. Designing it with the 9to5 team has been a true pleasure, and the limited-edition pouches are a way for visitors to carry a piece of the day home with them.”

Further enlivening the showroom experience, local Chicago DJ VITIGIRRL will bring the Work in Rhythm theme to life from the 9to5 Seating Showroom #1085 on Monday, June 8, from 3–5 PM. Throughout the rest of the show, a custom soundtrack curated by DJ VITIGIRRL and inspired by the cadence and energy of the modern workday will create an immersive atmosphere where guests can connect, recharge, and celebrate design. Attendees can also download the exclusive Work in Rhythm playlist directly from the showroom, extending the experience beyond NeoCon.
