Tarry Wood

Allermuir | Tarry is a collection of beautiful wing back chairs and footstools designed by Allermuir in partnership with Wolfgang C.R.Mezger. A reinterpretation of a classic design, Tarry is a range of modern lounge furniture designed to invite private discussion or quiet contemplation.  Tarry Wood is a new addition to the wider Tarry range, including a wing back chair and footstool that both sit on four solid Ash legs.  Reflective of status, Tarry creates a prestigious presence within a room with an enduring impact. Tarry offers flexibility within any area, as it can be used as a stand-alone piece for a solitary sit, or positioned in pairs or clusters to invite conversation and collaboration in small groups within a subdued and calm atmosphere.  Tarry was created to provide a domestic level of beauty and comfort with the durability of a commercial piece. Some chairs look stunning, but don’t invite the user to sit for a prolonged period of time. Some chairs are exceptionally comfortable, but compromise on their beauty and durability.  Tarry was created as a solution to all of these issues, while also addressing the need for a product with high acoustic properties. This is a particular challenge given that every person is different in their proportions and preferences.  Tarry’s height adjustable headrest creates the perfect amalgamation of ergonomics and relaxation. Softly cushioned, it provides support for the head and neck that in turn causes the person sitting in it to breathe correctly and relax.  The addition of a complementary footstool provides an added level of comfort, to alleviate tired feet or rest a book or laptop on raised knees. It also provides a secondary seat, for a guest to perch for a moment.  Tarry’s defining silhouette lends itself well to a variety of fabric or leather upholstery types including two-tone. This is accompanied by twin stitch detailing that is both beautiful and enduring.
